Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 23, 2026

MindScale is a local symptom journal published by Kiesling Dev. Questions about this policy can be sent to corykiesling@gmail.com.

Your information stays in the app until you choose to export or share it

MindScale stores the information you enter on the device where it is installed. This includes ratings, sleep and wake records, notes, events, Profile information, your safety plan, preferences, and breathing-session records. It uses these records to display your history, charts, and summaries and to provide the features you choose.

The app has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, or app network connection. It does not send your records to Kiesling Dev or a MindScale server. Android automatic backup and automatic device transfer of the app's data are disabled.

Backups, exports, and sharing

You can create JSON backups and CSV exports, import supported files, and copy or share selected information and summaries. Exported files are unencrypted. You choose where to save them; your document provider may sync them to a cloud service. Protect those files and delete copies you no longer need.

Copy places selected information on the system clipboard. Share passes selected information to the receiving app you choose. Safety actions open a dialer, messaging app, or browser with the selected number or link. Those apps and services have their own privacy practices. MindScale cannot control what they store or send.

Retention and deletion

Your local records remain until you delete them, erase the app's data, or uninstall the app. You can manage records in the app and use its data controls to export or erase local data. Kiesling Dev has no remote copy of your journal to retrieve or delete. Export a JSON backup before uninstalling or changing devices if you want to retain your records.

Deleting information in MindScale does not delete exported files, clipboard content, or copies held by other apps, services, or recipients. Manage those copies separately.

Support messages and this policy website

If you email support, your email address and whatever you include are received through the email provider and used to respond to your request. Avoid sending symptom records, safety-plan details, or other sensitive health information. You may request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the same address.

Policy updates

Changes to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes in how the app handles information will also be reflected in its in-app disclosures.
